Her Infinite Variety

This bestselling short story collection celebrates the women in Shakespeare’s world and plays, imagining the lives of his mother, wife, daughters, the other women who informed his work and genius, and the unforgettable female characters he created.

The Falling Nun

The rituals of young urban women (office games, TV watching, parties, dating) mesh with darker ceremonies (tattooing, witchcraft, self-mutilation) in this collection of 12 fresh and vibrant stories.—Publisher’s Weekly

Praise for Pam's Work

FILIGREE'S MIDNIGHT RIDE

“With spot-on pacing and levity, Berkman and Hearst engage readers and communicate the seriousness of Revere’s mission. . . This first in a new series is fun and accessible for readers who aren’t quite ready for Alison Hart’s Dog Chronicles.”

School Library Journal

THE FALLING NUN AND OTHER STORIES

“Every story in Pamela Rafael Berkman’s new collection is thoroughly engaging because her vivid, angled characters always manage to snag us on their jagged hopes and fears.”

—Pulitzer Prize winner Richard Russo, author of Empire Falls

HER INFINITE VARIETY

“What a brave piece of work, to imagine Shakespeare's women . . . a book to stimulate the imagination and remind us of the richness of the Bard's legacy.”

—Susan Vreeland, author of Girl in Hyacinth Blue

School Visits

If you're a student or teacher reading my short story Duty in your Collections textbook, I would love to Skype with your class, or visit in person if you’re in the San Francisco Bay Area. I’ve so much enjoyed visiting eighth grade and high school classrooms to answer questions and talk with students about this story, Shakespeare, and writing.

Dorothy Hearst and I would also love to arrange a visit to your elementary school classroom for activities and a discussion about our books in the At the Heels of History series. We can visit virtually, or in person if you are in the San Francisco Bay Area.
